A Reliable, Versatile System for Assessing Oxygen Intake
نویسنده
چکیده
As metabolic analysis under the stress of exercise expands its horizons beyond the assessment of maximal oxygen intake, a more versatile system than the cumbersome Douglas bag apparatus is warranted. With the advent of continuous observation of energy demands of submaximal work over extended periods (Costill, Kammer, and Fisher, 1970; Costill et al., 1971), a method is required that is convenient to operate relatively simple to construct, and most of all accurate in 'It measurement.

Increasing of leachate quality using an integrated aerobic membrane bioreactor
The aim of this study was the increasing of leachate quality using integrated membrane bioreactor (MBR). The reactor was fed with treated leachate with overall 70-1360 mg/l chemical oxygen demand (COD). The analysis of COD, biochemical oxygen demand (BOD5), total suspended solids (TSS), and total dissolved solids (TDS) were performed in feed and filtrate, whenever the system reached steady stat...

Influence of oxygen-enrichment air intake and bioethanol–gasoline blends on exhaust emissions and fuel consumption of gasoline engine
Among human activities, motor vehicles play the most important role in air pollution. Air pollution has negative impacts on people and on the environment. In this paper the effect of oxygen-enriched air (20.8%, 21.8%, 22.8%, 23.8% and 24.8%) and different bioethanol-gasoline blends (zero, 5%, 10%, 15%, 20% and 25%) in different engine speeds (1000 rpm, 2000 rpm and 3000 rpm) on the amount o...

Evaluate the effect of biodiesel and EGR system on diesel engine emissions
Vehicle Emission is one of the main causes of environmental damage. Vehicle engines produce carbon dioxide (CO2), hydrocarbon (HC), Nitrogen oxides (NOx) and many other harmful substances. An investigation was conducted using a compression-ignition engine fuelled with different ratios of blends of diesel and biodiesel at different EGR rates. The effects of different ratios of fuel blends and EG...
